Holy City Catering remains a family owned and operated, full service catering company in Charleston, SC. Members of our team have worked Hailey and Rhett Tanner, since early 2009. Developing the functionality of the site was the main priority a few years ago, but we remember emphasized that the feel of the design and the site’s responsiveness is just as important as its function.
We integrated Holy City Catering’s culture as a company that creates quality southern style cuisine and world class sushi. The design is both crisp and stylish, deciding on elements that could bring together the flavor and appetizing colors that you look for when ordering designer sushi rolls or attending one of their catering events.
In the food industry, menus and specials are constantly changing depending on what’s fresh, in season or new recipes the chef has come up with. We configured the website’s content management system to allow for easy updating of the various pages. We also made Holy City Catering’s website responsive and optimized page load speed.
HCC utilizes their blog to generate interest for their preferred venues, sushi lessons, choice menu item recipes and more. This offsite blog is a key ingredient to increasing authority around HCC’s niche: catering, event planning, weddings and sushi. It also serves as a platform for other writers to post about relevant topics.
We deployed daily updates through Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets to increase branding awareness and recognition. We continually increased brand awareness, website traffic and build content around Holy City Catering to further reach and client base. We enjoyed the practice and exercise of focusing on a local target market. Building on this aspect not only increased traffic but also created new business opportunities for the company as well.

The logo design process for Holy City Catering included a series of concepts and proofs based on a brief description provided by the owners. After a few simple revisions, we completed the vector graphic which is now used for the entire business. Using a combination of different shades of green that embody the company’s focus on not just creating good food but the feeling of well-being after tasting one of their palatable dishes.
